The Origin of Mare Nature Alchemy Products
The origins of Mare Nature Alchemy lie not in a laboratory or textbook, but with one special tree: a Canadian sugar maple at the AIR AnnAtopiA artist residency. This is where the Voice of the Earth project began, an artistic and open exploration by Claudette van de Rakt , founder of Mare Nature Alchemy, guided entirely by what presented itself in the moment. The sugar maple was followed and documented in all its guises for two years.
A tree as a guide and oracle
The tree served as a guide: she was filmed, photographed, visited, and even climbed, at the invitation of the tree itself. Music was made and a poem written together with the tree. This "tree of life" offered insights, gentleness, humor, and a wisdom that transcends words. In 2023, a photo and a poem about this sugar maple were published in Rondom Sonja (Kelder Uitgeverij).
Based on this tree's inspiration, Mare Nature Alchemy's very first tincture recipe was created. The brand logo, derived from a drawing of the tree's seed, is also a direct reflection of this beginning.
The healing relationship between man and nature
Plants and trees themselves indicate what is good for us, if we are willing to listen. They fulfill physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, invite us to be present in the moment, share the joy of connection, and bring us back to the earth: to the simplicity of soil, rain, sun, and air.
Nature and humanity have an inherent capacity for healing—a constant movement between balance and imbalance. Knowledge of herbs and phytotherapy teaches us how plants can support the body in the form of tinctures, hydrolates, creams, massage oils, and customized complexes. But the core remains: listening to what the plant wants to give.
From tree seed to art project
The seed of the Canadian sugar maple is the symbol and logo of Mare Nature Alchemy products. Their research extends to the collaboration between herbs, trees, and sound to strengthen the body's self-healing capacity. Mare also collaborates with artists, such as in the Stargate Experience developed by Claudette and Helene Hoogland, where visitors can experience the connection between humanity and nature firsthand.
Mare Nature Alchemy is therefore not just a product line, but a living process—an ongoing dialogue between humanity, nature, art, and consciousness. A journey that began with Claudette van de Rakt and a single tree, and which continues to evolve every day.
